Weekly Update February 21

Hi San Tan Families,
I am very grateful to all of you who were able to take the time to chaperone our field trip to the play at Mesa Arts Center. We talked about the play at school the next day and the children enjoyed the characters, costumes, and the backstage tour. I was pleased with our students’ behavior. Thank you for supporting them.

This week we wrote about our President’s Day Weekend and the fun we had with family. The children’s work will hang in the hallway for you to peruse when you are in the building.

I have noticed a huge improvement in the number of children that practice their spelling words and do well on the test. Thank you for working with your children at home. Next week’s words are: ink, pink, think, thank, bank, and Bonus Words; honk, dunk, bunk, skunk, tank.

We focused on Presidents this week, reading, writing, comparing, and watching videos on the highlights of some of our presidents including Washington, Lincoln, John F. Kennedy, and Obama. Next week we plan to focus on Teddy Roosevelt and the national park system.
